KY's First CKM Level 2

CourtneyL2Courtney Spragens is KY's first CKM Level 2 trainee.  Let's congratulate Courtney on over a year of hard training and a job well done.

Courtney is leaving for Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, GA to pursue her U.S. Army career.  She certainly has been an army of one at Legion.  Courtney and husband Phil joined Legion on the 11th day the training center was opened and have hardly missed a training session in nearly 14 months, often training 5 to 6 days per week.

Courtney, we'll miss you at Legion, and wish you the best of luck.  See you on your first leave.

Training Marine Recruits

Marines Training Marine Recruits Legion Head Instructor Steve Mansfield, with the help of advanced Legion Trainee's Courtney Spagens, David Levine and Austin Bomar, had the honor and privledge of training local Marine Recruits at Legion on National Ave. Over 30 recruits endured a typical Legion Combat Fitness Session led by Steve that lasted nearly 2 hours. Legion is doing this to prepare these recruits for some of the toughest training in the world, Marine Basic Training. We sure hope we got them going on the right foot. Any of you guys that want to keep preparing, come on in to Legion! We do this every day! And, if other military or para-military organizations are interested in Legion Training or Commando Krav Maga, please contact us and we'll be glad to train you at your location or here at Legion.

Training with local Emergency Response Teams

Ert We had the privilege of training the Jessamine County Police Emergency Response Team at their facility and on their firing range.  We went over some basic CKM techniques and some advanced fitness and had a great time overall.  We certainly appreciated the opportunity to train with this elite squad.  Thanks to all that attended and we're already looking forward to next time we can be together.  Who said hard-core training can't be fun?

Legion CKM keeps it real with outdoor training

1IMG_0356 Legion CKM recently trained outside at Jacobson Park in Lexington and had a blast practicing techniques off the comfy confines of the soft mat at the gym.  Thanks to everyone who attended including Courtney, Nichole, Seb, Jeremiah, David, Matt, Travis, et al.  A good 2 mile run, Legion Combat Fitness and then an hour of additional technique training left us all knowing that we had done some good training.  Thanks to Sarah for helping me get everything ready.

We're going to try to do more outdoor training before the weather changes.  We'll keep you posted!1IMG_0361
